Bihar Judiciary (PCS-J) Preparation Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Preparation

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 

(i) Persons who possess a degree of Bachelor of Law (Professional Degree) of a recognized university or institution.

(ii) who have two years experience of practice at the Bar.

(iii) Knowledge of Punjabi Language- No person shall be appointed to any post in any service by direct appointment unless he has passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language which may be specified by the Government from time to time. 

 

AGE LIMIT 

(i) The age of the candidate of any category should not be less than 18 years.

(ii) The upper age limit of a General Category candidate should not be more than 37 years.

(iii) The upper limit of maximum age for a candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste and Backward Class residing in the State of Punjab shall be 42 years.

(iv) The upper age limit for State and Central Government employees shall be relaxed to 45 years.

(v) The upper age limit for ex-servicemen resident of Punjab shall be 45 years.

(vi) Upper age limit of 10 years for differently abled candidates residing in Punjab.

The maximum age limit while giving relaxation will be 47 years.

PLAN FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION 

It shall be Multiple Questions Types ( MCQs) paper. 

The Exam would be of 2 hours duration.

There will be negative marking in this written test.  Each question will carry 1 mark and ¼ marks will be deducted for wrong answer.

It will be consist of Two Parts.

Part A consist of 40 questions ( 40 Marks) and Part B consist of 80 questions ( 80 Marks).

 

SYLLABUS FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION 

Part-A 

General Knowledge and Current affairs of National and International importance including: ( 10 Marks)

(i) Polity issues,

(ii) Environment issues,

(iii) Current Affairs,

(iv) Science and Technology,

(v) Economic issues,

(vi) History of India with special reference to Indian freedom struggle movement.

(vii) Sports,

(viii) Cinema and Literature.

(ix) Geography

Punjab History and Culture:- ( 5 Marks)

Physical features of Punjab and its ancient history. Social, religious and economic life in Punjab. Development of Language & literature and Arts in Punjab, Social and culture of Punjab during Afgan/Mughal Rule, Bhakti Movement, Sufism, Teachings/History of Sikh Gurus and Saints in Punjab. Adi Granth, Sikh Rulers, Freedom movements of Punjab. 

Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability: (10 Marks)

(i) Logical reasoning, analytical and mental ability.(05 Marks)

(ii) Basic numerical skills, numbers, magnitudes, percentage, numerical relation appreciation. (03 Marks)

(iii) Data analysis, Graphic presentation charts, tables, spreadsheets. (02 Marks) 

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ:- ( 5 Marks)

ਸ਼ੁੱਧ-ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ, ਸ਼ਬਦਜੋੜ, ਅਗੇਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛੇਤਰ, ਸਮਾਨਾਰਥਕ/ਵਿਰੋਧੀਸ਼ਬਦ, ਨਾਂਵ, ਪੜਨਾਂਵ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ, ਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਵਚਨ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਖਾਣ ਤੇ ਮੁਹਾਵਰੇ, ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਦਿ।

English:- ( 5 Marks)

Basic Grammar, Subject and Verb, Adjectives and Adverbs, Synonyms, Antonyms, One Word Substitution, Fill in the Blanks, Correction in Sentences, Idioms and their meanings, Spell Checks, Adjectives, Articles, Prepositions, Direct and Indirect Speech, Active and Passive Voice, Correction in Sentences, etc.

ICT:- (5 Marks)

Basics of computers, Network & Internet, Use of office productivity tools Word, Excel, Spreadsheet & PowerPoint.

Legal Glossary (Punjabi) including Revenue terms in Punjabi. 

Minimum qualifying marks for General Category is 40%

Minimum qualifying marks in 35% for SC/BC Candidates of Punjab.
