MANIPUR JUDICIARY SYLLABUS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

 A candidate for appointment as Officer of MJS Grade-III shall satisfy the following conditions, namely

(a) He/she shall be a citizen of India.

(b) He/she must be a holder of a degree in law from a recognized University establisheď by law in India.

(c) The candidate must have knowledge of the state official language. 

(d) Must have practiced for a minimum period of three years as an advocate and it is mandatory to produce a certificate to that effect. 

AGE LIMIT

 Must not have attained the age of 35 years as on the last date fixed for receipt of applications.

Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years, i.e. upto 38 years in the case of OBC candidates and by 5 years, i.e. upto 40 years in respect of SC/ST candidates.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION 

Preliminary Examination: Objective And Multiple choice type 

Mains Examination: Descriptive Exam ( Written Conventional Type)

Interview: Viva- Voce ( Personality Type) 

Preliminary Examination 

It shall comprise of Multiple Choice Objective Type Quesions, carrying 200 marks.

 SYLLABUS FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

Paper-I: One paper of 100 marks of not less than 3 hours duration to test-

General Knowledge, Aptitude, Intelligence, Test of Comprehension and Expression of Law and General English including Essay Writing on Legal Topic and Information Technology.

Paper-II.- One paper of 100 marks of not less than 3 hours duration regarding problems of law as regards-

The Transfer of Property Act,

Code of Civil Procedure,

Specific Relief Act,

Code of Criminal Procedure,

Indian Evidence Act,

Indian Penal Code,

Limitation Act,

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,

Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 

Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
